I've been going through my small but loved collection of signed items and writing down the exact when & where they were obtained (the large majority are in-person at conventions or concerts). I figure this might come in handy for my kids one day after I've left this mortal coil. I've never sold anything of mine, so thanks in advance for your opinions. For most of my collection, the sentimental value outweighs the monetary value. Plus, having obtained most in-person, authenticity is not a concern. So I've never had anything authenticated. BUT, I am concerned with the potential re-sell value down the road should my kids not be interested.

One of the items is a signed (by Joey, Johnny, Marky, CJ) Ramones LP that I purchased directly from Marky at a convention. I have a photo of me with Marky holding the LP.
Here's my question: In regards to re-sell value years from now, do you think there is any advantage of having the LP authenticated by a 3rd party now? Or would my photo of me, Marky, & the LP convince most potential buyers?

I think authentication always helps resale value as well as insurance value if something were to happen to it. It's about investment and well worth it.

Thanks! I do agree. The main cause of hesitation is financial. I'll have to see how much it'll cost me.
