My 11 year old is a huge Tom Brady fan. A friend of a friend is selling this claiming it was signed at training camp, which I do know she attends. Before I purchase this for him does it look legitimate? I know the helmet is beat up but if real he would be thrilled to have it. Any help is appreciated.

I suppose anything is possible (how much do you trust your friend?) but this is not a signature I would be comfortable owning, and I have several Brady signatures.
I'm not sure what your friend is charging you for this, but authentic Brady items are not cheap. Once in a while, you can find a signed mini-helmet on ebay for under 300. In fact there is one on there now, for 299 or best offer. You will not find anything authentic that is less expensive.
