U2 signatures Help

Hi All,

I started collecting signed guitars a few weeks ago, and just purchased this guitar signed by all members of U2. My understanding is, this guitar was purchased at a 2001 charity event. I've scoured the internet for signatures and they seem to match, but was hoping I could get others opinions?

Also, if anyone has a good authentication service in Los Angeles, could you please let me know? PSA sounds soooo complicated and expensive!

Hate to say it, but I'm not seeing anything that looks even close to any the band members signatures.

I thought so too when I first looked at it, but I really took a good look at their 90's signatures, and there do seem to be some similarities. no?

Well, Bono and Edge's signatures really haven't changed much over the past 25 years or so (though a greater tendency for rushed signatures nowadays may make it appear otherwise). The Bono signature doesn't look right at all. I assume the other two are supposed to be Edge and Clayton, but neither look good at all. It's quite rare to stumble upon an authentic fully signed guitar from this band.

Honestly, no. Two problems: 1) It really doesn't look even possibly authentic and 2) PSA just isn't all that great with U2 autographs.

If you'd like, you can post on Eastlink's facebook page. You'll get feedback from huge U2 fans who also happen to be very competent in U2 autographs. I feel that they're unquestionably much better than PSA.

You could also ask rock music authenticator Roger Epperson. He's seen many U2 autographs over the years.

No way is that authentic.

Charity auctions do not mean the item was donated by the band as most assume. It means it was donated by a dealer and the charity gets to keep any money they make over the minimum the dealer set for it. Its a fast way for crooks to sell junk to those less familiar with autographs. Being from a charity auction does not give it an ounce of legitimacy.

The Mullen signature is also completely way off.

Just a side note: The price itself is a red flag. Authentic full-band signed U2 items often go for $1000 or more now. And that's just flat items. No way a guitar would be that cheap.

"MINIMUM SCRETCHES - SEE PICS" What the heck are scretches? scratches? All caps for the auction info? Tons of red flags that said 'stay away' from this auction.
