I have an air conditioner in my room, and I had a Leonardo Dicaprio signature underneath it, bout half way between the air conditioner and the floor. I honestly did not predict this, as there's quite a distance between the photo and the air conditioner and the air conditioner is new, so no reason why it should be leaking out the front...anyway, you have my permission to call me stupid, LOL. Anyway, the photo is quite large, aprox. 16X12, and the water damage is along the right side, and bottom side, almost making a border. The water entered the item on the right side, and pooled at the bottom. It didn't leave traditional water stains, more like streak marks. At this point I'm thinking I have 3 options
1) Leave the item alone with the water marks and just accept the fact that what I did was retarded and live and learn, and try and enjoy the piece for what it's worth
2) Frame the piece professionally and have the water marks matted out or
3) Have the piece trimmed down professionally, into an odd size but removing the water marks. It's a 16X12, and its a scenic type photo, so IMO other than size the integrity of the photo will remain intact.
While the situation sucks, I'm lucky the water didn't go onto the signature or middle of the photo. Any advice as to what's the best option? I honestly feel so disgusted right now, but what I did was stupid, and it only cost me one piece. I also had a poster under there which suffered extremely minor damage, it just bent the top of the poster SLIGHTLY because the water got to the top and dried. I straitened it out as best as I could, barely noticeable. The Leo got the worst of it.
