Autographs in the post, don't you love it ? You know how it works : Letter of request, SAE and a big hope that you do not get a pre print crap in return. I've sent a few of those request in the UK and have been not too unlucky so far... While on holidays in New York last month, I thought it would be a good idea to send some stuff all other the States as it would be cheaper for me and less hassle for the signer as well. I sent 14 letters. The first one to come back was ... Jerry Lee Lewis ! Yes ! the Killer ! While my 7"x5" home made card got signed, my letter got back as well with the following inscription : "$20 hand written, $10 stamps" circled in a lovely heart ! Great balls of fire ? Not really... Somebody give me an extinguisher ! The next one was Grace Slick. Nice signature this time but she send my letter back with "I would have signed it the way you wanted but i couldn't read it ?? My honey babe?, my what ?" Well, my dear Grace that was "My home made card" ! That's all it was ... Number 3 Is Fats Dominos ! I received that one yesterday. That's, so far,  the best one : The bottom of my card got cut off (you know the white border where the signer makes you happy ?) and he signed on the picture. My take on that  is that he started to sign on the white border, screwed it up so he cut it ! Don't give up the piano Fats and thanks a lot anyway ! I will keep you "posted" every time something comes back
