G'day Mark, dead right - nice exemplar of Gary's signature circa mid-70s. The classic "G" hasn't changed that much with the passing of the years and you can still see how the "P" remains taller than the following "l". Indeed the "Play" are quite definable before the somewhat 'hurried' "er" that used to finish his signature then and even does today when he is not flat-signing. It's more of just a little upstroke (no discernible 'e' or 'r' in those signatures. Lovely mate - matte that up with one of Gary's terrific action shots and you'll have a great piece from "The Black Knight". All the best, David.
G'day again Mark, if it were me and I were thinking of selling the autographs I would be inclined to split them, mount them on card and then matte them up with a nice action (which is my preference) photo. This one of Gary Player and if you have an equally nice one from Tom Watson will make super pieces and the others won't be half bad either :)
To give you an idea of what I do I'll upload a couple of pics for you to see :
Here's Mr Hogan :
and, finally, a nice one from "The Black Knight"
Hope that helps and all the best
David
David - You interested in getting the signed cards from me??
email me privately if you are interested please.
thanks
Mark
G'day Mark, many thanks for that kind offer. Unfortunately I already have quite a lot of signed memorabilia from these guys so, at the moment, I'll pass. Having said that, I'm always on the lookout for signed items from golfers from the end of the 19th and early 20th century (pre WW2) so if anything like that crosses your path ... just holler :) All the best, David.
All good.. thanks and have a great holiday!
Mark
