forgot to mention the title of the book is "Mission on Main Street" published in 1955 by Helga Bender Henry and is about the largest mission in the US (and still is today) which was right next to the Main St gym. Many fund raisers and events were done at the gym for the mission, which also brought a lot of the celebrities in.

great find Mariah!  This is right up there with the Derby Hat on the MAIN AM site.

It would be great to have images of all of them posted as there is so much debate about secretarial -vs- real - vs - forgeries.   Some of those posted are great examples of that celebrities signature for that period.
