I really need an opinion as I'm stuck and I don't know what to do.

I found a signed hat that is apparently from 1987 Bad tour for auction on Ebay...I thought it was a steal for $250, but something kinda made me stop.  It doesn't look right...or like any other hat I've compared it to online.

I thought I was being paranoid, but then I started looking at the signature and comparing. there's something about the "L" in Michael and the "J" in Jackson that....I dunno...I don't know if it's just me or if it's really not real.  Could someone please check this out for me and opine?  I would buy this as a gift for someone else, not myself, but it just seems off.......

I don't think I've seen a pin-stripe concert-worn fedora before?

Me neither, but this is the first time I've ever looked for an MJ autograph online.  I was going to buy this for a friend, but it just looked suspicious.  I went in search of folks that would know, and it led me here. :)

Hello,

I am a serious MJ collector and I own the hat that MJ wore in his last public performance at the Apollo in 2002.  I have done extensive research on MJ hats and have NEVER heard of him wearing a pin striped hat. During the Victory tour he wore hats from "The Maddest Hatter" in Los Angeles. This continued on into the start of the Bad tour, but then he switched to a more economical plain wool hat with "Michael Jackson" printed on the inner brim in gold. Never a pin stripe. So... that being said, he likely never wore this on stage and threw it out to the audience. Not saying it's not someone else's hat that he signed... that would be up to an autograph authenticator to determine. Hope that helps.
