I usually do not like to remove inscriptions, but since Wallach isn't exactly a rare autograph, and I have a Lee Van Cleef and Clint photo (both un-personalized) I think it would be fine if I removed the "for Bill" inscription on this (autograph is cheap too, only costs 40$)

Anyone have easy/safe techniques to remove inscriptions from photographs?

I was thinking just take some good ol' handsanitizer (takes off permanent marker like nothing!) but it seems that would be a haphazard approach and may cause more damage than intended.

I appreciate any advice!
