    Hi Robert,

From what I understand, Heroes & Legends does offer some genuine autographs, but their main business is selling forgeries. Jerry Gladstone of American Royal Arts said they used to be one of his suppliers--alone with Autograph Central and Forever Legends--but he no longer buys from any of them due to authenticity concerns. Seeing as I've only seen perhaps four autographed items that I thought were genuine from American Royal Arts, i find that rather funny--but that's what he told me.

Bob, I have heard that Lou Gramm will not sign Foreigner stuff now that he has his own band. Have you heard this? I want to send him a foriegner LP to sign but I dont want to insult him. Know what I mean. Thanks
  • Dustin White

No, but I had some relatives that went. I grew up not far from Warsaw, in a town called Macy, just south of Rochester. Not big, but I call it my hometown. I am looking forward to the Joliet and Indy races this year!!
  • Stephen Duncan

You need to take a "SLOW RIDE" down to that park and while enjoying that concert, score an signature or two. Nice story. Thanks for sharing...................

    Hi Bob,
Yes, I've had in-person encounters with the Monkees and with Davy Jones, Peter Tork and Micky Dolenz. Seems I e-mailed Steve Cyrkin a while back about re-sending an updated Monkees (One Brief Signing Moment; which was never printed) story. But I havn't heard back. I just had an amazing weekend in Burbank where I met Nicholas Hammond (Friedrich Von Trapp from The Sound of Music).

hi Robert, have you met any celebrities lately? if so & if you would like to share your experiences; check out the forum: Meeting celebs who have you met? Who do you want to meet?

The Monkees? Really? That'll be killer. Are they all still alive?
  • Julie Snyder

    Hi Bob,

Got your e-mail. What I was told to do, in order to get a backstage pass, was to hang up by the stage after the show. I didn't think it would work, but amazingly it did! Obviously there's no guarantee that this will work every time, or even most of the time. Another idea is to locate the stage door outside the venue and either get there VERY early or wait there after the show. Again, no guarantee, but expect to wait an hour or more if you really want to obtain all three autographs.

  • Julie Snyder

    Hey Bob,

Just returned from Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, FL to see Carol Burnett. I see the Monkees will be there on Saturday, June 4 for an 8pm show. When do you plan on seeing them?

  • Julie Snyder

Hi Bob. Just returned home from Clearwater where the Monkees performed for a sold out crowd tonight. I didn't have a ticket when I got there. I was about to head back home to Orlando when a gentleman stopped me and said he had two tickets which he couldn't use because his wife couldn't attend, so I paid him for one which he said were the cheap ones for way back in the auditorium. After the show, I managed to get backstage without a VIP Pass. Although the guys didn't have time to sign autographs, they did take a pro group photo with every fan that got backstage. They'll e-mail the photos to each fan. They played pretty much all their hits and the music and fans were deafening!
  • Julie Snyder

    Hi Bob,

I was wondering.....do you already have (ttm) autographs of Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones and Peter Tork? i don't know if the Monkees and the Columbus venue have worked out a meet and greet ahead of time. I think the people who obtain the VIP backstage passes ahead of time probably are members of the Monkees fan club. This was my third ever Monkees concert (all at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater,FL) and second time to attempt getting backstage and second success. After I was able to quietly slip in with the first 20 VIP people in the hallway, I could see that I could very easily have been told to leave as I wasn't on the VIP list. Even though I'm a quiet, unassuming person who doesn't call any attention to myself, it was a 50/50 situation of crossing the hurdle of getting into the room where the pre-arranged photo-op was. So if you try to get backstage as I did, I'd caution you to be very discreet. Have a Sharpie ready if you want to have something signed if time allows for the guys, but be prepared for just a group photo-op and be happy with that.

  • Julie Snyder

    Hey Bob,

I got backstage this time just I had the previous time.....I went up by the stage and waited with all those who clearly had VIP passes around their necks (lanyards). Only this time we weren't directed to an oversized dressing room.  :)

    Hi Bob,

As I said before, seeing that the Monkees are on such a whirlwind tour right now, don't expect any autographs. But if you are successful in getting backstage after the show to get a group photo with the guys that's great!

  • Julie Snyder

    Hi Bob,

Sorry to hear that you weren't able to meet Micky and Peter for their 'graphs but happy to hear about your success with Davy twice. Were you able to get your photo taken with him?

  • Julie Snyder

Was this your first time meeting him in person?

  • Julie Snyder

    Hi Bob,

Good luck on getting Neal McCoy's autograph next month.  I got an autographed color photo of him a few years ago, though I had to arrange it through his people and it was mailed to me. I just picked up the newest "Black Stallion" book that was just released on Tuesday. I got hooked on collecting the series after watching the two "Black Stallion" movies in 1979 and 1983. Walter Farley was the original author and his last book was co-written with his older son, Steven, who has continued the series after his father's death in 1989. In January 2009 I was able to meet him, his younger brother, Tim and their mother, Rosemary. Steve's book "The Black Stallion and the Shape-Shifter" had just been released and I obtained all three of their signatures in it--a 1st Edition. This latest book "The Black Stallion and the Lost City" is also a 1st Edition and looks to be a good story. Kind of ties in with a scene from the movie about Alexander the Great and his horse Bucephalus.

  • Julie Snyder

    Hi Bob,

A question about the Lisa Whelchel signed book. Did you obtain it in person?

  • Julie Snyder

    Robert,

Try this one for Richard Carpenter:

               P. O. Box 1084

               Downey, CA    90240

This is the one I used back in 1998 (I think) and he sent me a signed 8x10 b/w photo of himself.

  • Julie Snyder

    Hi Bob,

Sorry if that Richard Carpenter address I gave you didn't pan out.
