I don't know about it being rare. Here's what I know about this particular diecast. Last year or the year before that, at Lowe's Motor Speedway, Bobby Allison was the grand marshal for the Coca Cola 600 race, and I think it was 35 years of Coca Cola racing or something to that effect. So they created a special diecast that showcased the 69' Mercury Cyclone #12 Coca Cola which Bobby raced in the 1971 season (I am not sure..) This diecast was manufactured by "University Of Racing" (Not Action or Racing Champions, go figure!) and carried the official licensing branding of Ford, Holman-Moody, and Coca Cola. The production quanity of the car was very minimal, I believe and Bobby signed each and every one of those on the roof of the car. Go on eBay and you will see some are charging anywhere from $69 to $99 or more for this diecast. I was at the fall race at Bristol, last year (my first time at Bristol!!!!!!) and came across the Allison signed diecast---inside the racetrack in Bristol's official souvenir booth...and purchased one for $49. This diecast has everything metal, even the chassis. It's a shame Action cannot sell their diecast with autographs on it for $49. That would be an economy stimulus pleaser!

Thank you Brandon, for the comment on the diecast. I admit, I'm a sucker for old-time NASCAR cars, and I think NASCAR could reconnect with the fans by allowing each manufacturer to put out their "cars" with personality!!!!! Instead of just making them practically universal and slapping a decal on it and calling it a Ford, Chevy, or Dodge...

Hi Jim. My name is Barry. Kind of new here. I moved to Mooresville NC, near a racing museum about a year ago. I took a tour several months ago and bought this car. The actual car Bobby drove is in the museum. The guy there said they shipped the car off to have the 1:24 scale replica made. Because of Bobby's accomplishments in racing and long relationship with the Coca-Cola Co. They asked him to be grand Marshall for the 50th running of the Coca-Cola 600 May of 2009. He drove the car during pre race festivities. (the big car) the replica was made with Bobby's personal involvement. Notice the round sticker above the back tires, says Motorola Radio Dispatched. The guy said when the replica was complete Bobby looked in the car and asked, "where is the radio?" he would not approve until they added the radio. He was the first driver to introduce 2way radios. If you look inside you can plainly see it, beside drivers seat, black with white antenna. There were 5000 made, theirs sold for $99.00.
