I went and built my first set with photographs, then had the Gleason secretarial freakout, which left me with three magnificent SP's in matching ink and no Gleason at all. Without losing sanity or breaking the bank, one can find a really cool vintage Gleason with time, but not on a photograph. So, I turned to my own Kelton which is a C.1950 album page - viola. Now I am going to wind up with two framed items - the original Ralph (early ballpoint) and Alice (fountain) on matching album pages, and the original Norton (fountain) and "second" Trixie (ballpoint) on matching 3.5" x 5" photographs. The first Trixie was Elaine Stritch for I think just one episode - that would be like including the cop (Carney) from the last minute of the first episode in 1951 when there was no Norton. The real fun will come trying to find a vintage photo to frame with mine, or yours!
You know what I just did? I just talked myself unknowingly into finding a vintage Elaine Stritch...great. ;) And you just know she will only appear in ballpoint on a photo or something like that.
