What would you like to tell us about yourself, your collecting, or business.

When I was about 18 I started collected autographs of Hollywood stars and rock stars. I would go to the airport or signings. I collected because I was a fan. I also sent letters. The first contained an index card kindly requesting an autograph. I included a return return envelope with postage. Being in Canada, getting American postage was always an event. If the index card came back signed, I would mail out 8x10s and again provide a letter and return postage. I also purchased autographs through a film collectors company in Los Angeles. I can't remember the name. Form an ad on the back, I purchased addresses of movie stars (I thought this was so cool) and that is how I knew where to mail. I read about how to write letters requesting autographs and how to package your photos in the hopes of a successful signing. Vincent Price and James Stewart were a couple of the movie stars I wrote.

Why do you want to join Autograph Live?

I have a small collection of autographs my daughter and nephews have zero interest in. Rather than them ending up in a landfill, I would like to sell them. My concern is if the ones I bought are real. Back than I never doubted their authenticity. I was young and trusting. I would like to join a community of collectors and experts because they might have answers for me. Also, no one I know now cares about old Hollywood so it would be nice to hear if others think they are as cool as I do.

Why do you collect?

I don't anymore. I stopped years ago when I started working and being a family man. Life just slipped by.

Vincent Price and Mark Hamill.
