What would you like to tell us about yourself, your collecting, or business.

I have been collecting autographs since 1948. It started with baseball by sending a penny postcard to athletes at their stadiums. I have expanded to include all sports, and celebrities in all fields. I continue to write and my collection is now over 8,000 autographs, although most are still baseball.

Why do you collect?

That is a great question. Why does anyone collect thing? It becomes an obsession and very hard to stop. But, I just love getting mail from famous people and enjoy all of the work that goes into maintaining my hobby.

What is your favorite autograph in your collection?

It is a toss up between the first in person(s) autograph I ever got at Yankee Stadium, in 1952, of Joe DiMaggio, Larry Berra, Vic Raschi, Bobby Brown, Tommy Henrich, Charlie Keller, and Eddie Lopat. All on a large envelope with the Yankee insignia in the corner. The other would have to be the two postcards I received from Jackie Robinson and Roy Campanella in 1949.
