Why do you collect?

I “collect” anything that brings me joy or maybe reminds me of my childhood and special memories. I don’t really have a set collection of items or a genre. I am a beginner and I have a variety of items including old beer cans, historical items, glassware, vinyl records and 8 tracks. If it brings myself or my family joy I “collect” it :) at the same time teaching my children about some of my favorite people, places, etc. I started collect Abraham Lincoln books when I was around 10. We named our first born Lincoln. Mostly because of my love for Honest Abe and my husband only agreed because he is a Zelda fan and said we could could call our son Link. :) thank you for providing a safe place to get advice and connect with other collectors and fans.
