It does not look good to me, although I am not familar with his real early sigs. Hope this helps. PS~ look at the other autos to see if they follow know examples.
You didn't get any opinions on it in the Mantle, Williams, DiMaggio discussion?
just posted in that discussion under pic of a similar ball.
didn'y have any luck before, thanks.
OK...that may explain it. post it from the reply box under the article. That way it'll be easier to find. I'll ask people to comment.
Moved it over there, thanks Steve, I'm new to the group.
I think its clubhouse
I agree terrier8hof it looks clubhouse signed.
ok so you think your signature looks like the one in the photo you posted. first, is that a signature from 1958? it looks like one of his earlier signatures.
see the photos below. the first one is a clubhouse Mantle on a 1958 ball. the second is a REAL Mantle on a 1958 ball. which one in your opinion looks more like YOUR ball?
Here is a Mantle signature on a 1958 Contract. Note the formation of the M in Mickey. it is transitional, he already started changing the loop to what we saw in his 1960 and later signatures. Your ball does not have this. Also, look at the height of the "tl" on your ball relative to the other lettes in his last name vs. the real ones. Not even close.
below the contract is a 1960 team ball with a clubhouse Mantle. Looks a lot like yours, doesn't it?
