011.JPGI am hoping someone can tell me the best way, or place, to sell historical autographs and perhaps an estimate of the value of my items. I have 2 cool items, but I do not really collect so I would like to sell them. One is U.S. historical and one is from the Vatican. I know a bit about both and will tell what I know.
I added links to two pictures of the 1851 document. Thanks for the help on the Vatican item. Could anyone tell me about the 1851 document?
1) 1851 document naming George Davis to a position of Justice of the Peace. Davis went on to be an important name in Vermont history and a Civil War General. It is signed on one side by the current Gov. of Vermont in 1851Charles Kilborn Williams and R. F. Andrews "Secretary of Civil & Military Affairs". the other side has a hand written oath of office and is signed by George Davis. It is also signed by the "Master of chuancery" John Deane. Framed clear so you can see both sides and with museum mounts. In really nice condition with bold signatures. The document is 13" A x 8" H.
2)Marraige Apostolic Blessing Certificate. Sent from the Vatican with a raised Vatican seal. Pope John XXIII is pictured and it is dated May 4, 1963. He passed on June 3, 1963 and this would have been one of the last sent with his image. A hand written note in latin along the bottom and hand signed by an Archbishop. I can not make out the name but I believe the last name starts with "D'Ve..." Written very lightly below his name it says "Archbishop Add.....". In original frame and needs to be reframed but it is in nice shape. 13" A x 17" H. Really expensive colorful paper.
Thank you for any information you can give me,
Steve K
