Hello Everyone,

I am looking to buy this from another collector and wanted to know your input on this. I have compared this to additional Jeter signatures that he signs his middle name in and inscribes "Yankee Captain" on and it all lines up. It also comes from Steiner if you see the bottom left hand of the picture.  Your thoughts on this?

This incredible $799.00 Yankee display piece is a huge 16x20 full color photo, and shows the future HOF'er in action, and in he field making an amazing play. It is a treasure, comes marked by Steiner in a lower corner but has NO hologram attached. It is a Lee approved 10, has "Yankee Captain" added as a bonus in his hand, and show off on this easy HOF investment is easy from 60 feet away!

Wow no comments yet...

I've never seen anything like this before. It is possible Steiner asked him to sign it this way to create a different market than his usual signature but I've never ever seen him sign his name like that. I'm sure their will be a few..while they haven't posted is a surprise...that disagree...however I've never seen this style. For some reason I can't add examples I have gotten in person in the 90's. if you'd like..message me and I can send you some pics of my personal collection of his.

Steiner is exclusive with him so its more than likely legit but if I don't get something in person I'm usually hesitant. Not to say I haven't taken a chance on a Jeter before but that's with money back guarantees!

Needless to say its odd to me. Is this on eBay or thru Steiner?

It's legit. Typically these types of posts are made as forum posts, not blog posts, which is probably why people didn't see it.

Also just because the photo is from steiner doesn't mean the autograph is from Steiner, they sell unsigned photos with their watermark on them, autographs will have their hologram.

Didn't know Steiner just sold blank photos with their water mark! Still, I've never seen him sign his full name in 20 plus years! Corey, what does the info say on the bottom right of the photo?

Also the J in the Jeter is different than anything I've ever seen!

The info in the bottom right is just the MLB Copyrights.. The bottom left is the Steiner watermark. I am an avid Jeter Collector and I have seen these before and he does sign with his middle name for Steiner only. If you check eBay, type in Derek Sanderson jeter and compare them.. That's how I got in this debacle in the first place haha. I think it's real just want other valued opinions as I am getting! Thanks for all the help

Hmmm, odd that you said it was just for Steiner as I was just about to post that it must be a Steiner only thing or for a family member..or like they had an article in the NY Times that players who collect will ask for better autographs than what they give the public. I don't follow Steiner hence my not knowing..pretty much everyone I have is pre-Steiner even being a business so before '97/'98. Ill check eBay quick!

Check that one out. That's got the Steiner holo. The middle name looks different to me. Idk, up to you & the info you think is sufficient to make a decision!

Yeah that's why I'm very interested.. It's pry going to be the last Jeter autograph I get.. Well because I'm starting to get too many.. Which is never a bad thing in the autograph world!

And I think if he signs just that way for Steiner the one above should come with the holo. If not then I'd be skeptical!

It comes with a holo but it's just me being skeptical I guess because I rarely see this. I don't know.. Maybe I'll have to sit on it for a little bit and think about it
