With the Super Bowl less than a week away it is time for the forgers to come out in full force with the forgeries. This forgery is listed for sale by eBay seller McCluster_authentic , The only problem is this is far from Authentic and there is no way this is a Steiner Sports authentic item. This seller has sold 106 Peyton Manning items in the last month and has 6 listed right now. If you read the listing he states "This was from a private signing and no coa card was issued with it but just the Iron Clad Steiner sports hologram as pictured". Pure Bull.
great job Jason
Whats the Eli story?
Here's the Eli story. Unrelated to this post though..

I will NEVER buy or own anything that claims to be games used or worn.. Its the biggest scam running today.. All of the sudden 100's of bats pop up that Mantle, Ted Williams used in a game?? Horse s***.
Game used/worn is a scam and you heard it hear 1st.
You know what, this whole hobby is just turning into a big scam. It's disgusting that you cant even trust the apparent source anymore. Who do you trust anymore? All of the authentication companies screw up, the card grading companies screw up, now the players are apparently selling non game used items. Where does the madness end? Who do you trust? The card companies have been scamming collectors for years with their 1"x1" "game used" fabric and/or lumber cards, its all a scam. I'm going to start a new hobby, starting tomorrow morning I'm going to start collecting dirt, I'm going to go in the backyard and just start bagging dirt because at the end of the day it doesn't cost me anything and will be worth the same as this crap being sold. WORTH DIRT..
Just reinforces an important truth about the hobby: Buy the autograph, not the sticker/coa
I have read many articles that say the game used bat industry is the biggest scam on the planet.
I have also read that mlb players are ordering hundreds of jerseys at the beggining of the year. They change out every 2 or 3 innings (same with cleats, pants, etc.) and sell them off as game used. Steiner I believe whole heartedly do the best they can with this game used equipment. I have read and watched videos on how they have MLB, Steiner, and police at games. The games used equipment is brought off the field with always 2 or more people present, tagged, scanned, and documented.. I mean why would you not trust the GIANTS organization worth hundreds of millions to scam you of a 700 dollar jersey?? Steiner broke its own rules, they took the word of a third party, the giants. They apparently did not get it off eli's back; literally.
Tyler, MLB is the one that enforces the whole game used/game issued part of it when it comes to the Yankees, I know they have a whole process they follow. When it comes to the NFL I don't think they Police it as much. MLB has an actual office in the Yankee Stadium clubhouse just for this type of stuff. Another thing is the Players DO NOT own their jerseys, Pants or Hat, those items are team owned. The players themselves are responsible for everything else such as Bats, Gloves, Batting gloves, Cleats, wristbands and stuff like that. Now most players have sponsors like Nike, Adidas, etc that supply them with items to use during games but those do not belong to the team. I have no idea how that works with the NFL but I'm sure its somewhere along the same lines. I highly doubt the Giants are giving Eli a new helmet to use every game.
I think this is being posted in the wrong thread but I will cut and paste this to the Eli thread so not to mix everything up.
