McCartney letter to Sir Lew Grade-April 6, 1970

A handwritten letter to Sir Lew Grade from Paul McCartney on April 6, 1970. This was 4 days before he told the world that The Beatles were breaking up. He's asking for the for the "Deed Of Assignment dated Jan 12th to be sent to him IMMEDIATELY!!! This refers to Beatles royalties. This is a rare inter-office memo...and McCartney signatures from this time period are tough to find. What kind of value would you put on this? Has a letter from Frank Caiazzo. Just asking...Thanks.

Jim,

I don't know if it's being offered at $5,000 or $50,000+ but I wouldn't be surprised to see this piece bring $25,000...or much more. I think it would be a very good investment at $15K or less.

Thanks guys...it is a cool piece. Especially considering it was 4 days before McCartney told the world that The Beatles were basically finished on April 10, 1970. After this, Paul was leaving for Scotland and the Shetland Islands...and for a while...he was nowhere to be found. Frank told me that it was a rare piece...and that there are not too many Paul McCartney sigs from this time period...

It's a great piece of Beatles history, Jim. How long have you owned it?
Comment by Jim Cushman on July 18, 2017 at 7:22am

Hey Steve...I've had it since 1998....I've been a serious collector since 1985...autographs...personal items...some clothing worn by The Beatles...Stu Sutcliffe signatures...his handwritten poetry..some books that he owned..displays of hair...all kinds of stuff. I've had my stuff displayed at all of the major Beatles shows in the US & Canada...contributed some stuff to some books on Lennon and The Beatles...been on local...national and international TV...radio...newspapers...all that sort of crap.

I had no idea, Jim! I would love to interview you and spotlight your collection.

What do you think Paul's letter to Lew Grade is worth?
