Hi guys, I need your opinion authenticating memorabilia. I recently purchased a signed Michael Jackson, Peter Pan sketch. However, some friends believe it may be fake! The signature comes with Drew Max AAU, GFA, and Toby Stoffa COAs. I’ve recently learned that they have had integrity problems in the past. MJ typically has 4 signature styles. Can you give me your opinion?

thanks!

What Kai says is very true. You can spend more for just a genuine signature. Prices at RR go from about $675 (low) up to $1800 or so. The framing at 22" x 28" is costly with the large double mats, the plaque - what is really left to be in the autograph?

File "significantly not as described" and you'll get a QR code - you should not be paying return shipping.

Thank you all for you helpful feedback. I was able to dispute with eBay. They have quickly approved a return and refund. You all just saved me from being scammed out of $700

Can anyone recommend sites that sell authentic Michael Jackson autographs?

There are several decent auction houses, such as RR (Rare and Remarkable), and there are specialist dealers in Music such as Roger Epperson (Signed, Sealed and Delivered) and others. Here is a link to RR's closed auctions so you can see what to look for and what to pay. Others will have additional suggestions. You can always post an autograph here before purchase as well.

It is often wise to stick to signatures with full certification from one of the top authentication, such as JSA, PSA or BAS. I am not sure who is best with Jackson - others here will know.

It is also a good idea to watch and wait for a bit. Not to rush. Then you can get a better idea of what to go after and perhaps what to pay (or not). Condition and contrast are very important. Heritage Auctions is another, hopefully others will make additional suggestions.
