I know this isn't autograph related so I'll keep it short and hope I don't open a whole can of worms but since it IS on the issue of fake crap being passed off as original I thought it prudent to pass it along. What never ceases to amaze me is that these charlatians passing off this junk never do their homework. Sharp  eyes always catch something askew. Take for instance this " Concentration camp uniform". I've collected militaria since I was a kid and learned from my father who was a major collector of WWII militaria. In all that time I have seen less than five camp uniforms. two in museums, two at shows and one in private hands. Only the one in private hands can i be sure was genuine and only because of its provinance. This seller CADETCOM contridicts himself several places. And not just on this item, I looked at his other pieces and not only is his command of the english language shall we say "lacking" which leads me to believe he is not located CONUS ( he does NOT list where he is ) but he describes everything he sells is "rare" even when its not. He uses descriptions that have nothing to do with the item ( such as a "rare" US Marine pilot ring ) It's not rare, I have two in my collection. There is no indication that it was a pilots? It has nothing to do with Kreigsmarine ( means German navy ) or U Boats?  Perhaps it's belonged to a German flying U boats for the US Marines! lol. Anyway back to the uniform.  The seller CADETCOM titles this "  GERMAN WW2 complete PRISONERS UNIFORM fr. DACHAU, BUCHENWALD, AUSCHWITZ camp"  Well which camp is it from? ( He states later Auschwitz so why mention the others? ) He atributes this uniform to prisoner #64517 Isidor Müller. ( This information is easily available on the net ) he further states "What I am about to describe is an awesome rare rare rare complete uniform that appears to have been a political prisoner from Poland based upon the upside down red triangle" ( Did he say rare? lol ) "Appears"? He gives documentation as a letter from a George Petersen. ( Never heard of him ) claiming that George believes this to be original. Really? I read the letter and George says he brokered a deal in 1990 from a german FILM company that included about 150-175 of these uniforms. ( rare? ) and he had been told but a name he forgot that these were old stock used in many movies and any insignias were NEWLY ADDED. George adds that the studio made REPROS ( but he didnt buy any ) Seller states "  As you know 99.99% of all stuff from concentration camps was destroyed" Really? can't tell it by all the rare stuff he has for sale. He even has a couple of extra camp patchs for sale. Looks like he just opened the doors on an untouched camp! " "For sample I put a rare photo with a lot of uniforms before burned." ( What the heck does this mean? ) Estimate price for this item is $18,000 - $20,000. You will be surprised - the reserve price is very low. ( About twice what a REAL documented uniform sells for )

As a teenager I knew more than most kids my age as I was a big history buff. I also learned alot from my father who was a WW2 vet and collector. As a teen and a young man I struggled with what i was doing buying and selling third reich. I knew I wasnt a nazi but here i was buying and selling thing associated with recent horrific events that still haunt the living. It wasnt until I got to know that rabbi that I knew what i was doing was ok, even more than ok. I was helping to keep alive the memory of those that suffered.

There were a lot of sick pups in the Third Reich. Not all. Some were professional soliders and sailors that ( at least in the beginning ) believed they were fighting for their country. many regretted what their leaders were doing and did things that would have gotten them killed had they been discovered ( think Schindler's List ) or the Bunker blast. But at the very top of the list of sickos sits Mengele. Makes Manson, Heidnik, Jack the Ripper, etc look like childs play. Having had an opportunity to see the diaries do you think something like that should be published? I know a first hand account must be pretty horiffic but wouldnt it help more people to understand what sickos ran the ship?  I dunno. I'm kind of on the fence about the idea. ( like I have anything to do with it. lol )

I believe these were diaries were post-WWII, when he was living in Brazil and elsewhere in South America. Do I think they should be published? Absolutely. I'm not sure if they should be openly available on the internet or not, but I think so.

They could be used for good or to inspire evil. I know good would win, but the sickos can cause a lot of grief in the meantime.

BTW - Just about all the Holocaust items this eBay seller offers crap. Poland, site of the most horrific of the camps, is today a factory churning our bogus camp clothing, shoes, Stars, etc. Pretty soon we'll see a "Chriztover Moralazs" authenticator over there as well.
