About one week ago I was looking to sell some cards on eBay.
I needed some fast cash and decided to try and sell a 2000 SP Authentic Chirography Sandy Koufax I bought on July 27, 2018. I bought it for what I thought at the time was a great price, so I knew if I listed it I could list it cheap, and it would sell fast and I would get the money I needed at the time about one hour after I listed the card.
I received a message from an eBay member, perch712, I had never herd of or done business with before asking me where I got the auto. I responded I got it here on eBay about a year ago, and asked why. Then I received a response with this website and blogs about the Koufax.
At first I was in disbelief ,but it just so happens one of the cards listed on the blog was the exact scan of the card I have. After a little checking it became clear I had a counterfeit, and to get a professional 2nd opinion I sent a scan of the card to PSA for a quick opinion for $10 and their opinion was "likely not genuine."
Now with two great forms of evidence, I contacted the seller (superiorappraiser) on eBay about the counterfeit. He responded he would not refund my money because it has been a year since I bought it, so out of curiosity I checked his items for sale, and believe it or not, he still had the Koufaxes listed on eBay with the same scan he used when I bought one.
He gave me the run around about a refund saying he had to research the issue but still has not taken down the listing, leaving me no other choice than to believe he knows he is selling counterfeits based on his attitude.
When i found out about mine, without hesitation I took down my listing because I value my reputation and it's the right thing to do. I was also victim to the 1995 Jeter Upper Deck minors counterfeit rookie autograph, and when I contacted the seller I received a refund no questions asked after he saw this website and blog. He now is doing what I am doing: confronting the seller for a refund. I wish him luck.
I am posting the eBay listing below of the counterfeit Koufax autographs. Look at the scan: it is listed in the blog and happens to be the exact same autograph I have. I will keep you all posted if i get a refund or not.

I have let eBay and PayPal know about the fraud. Thanks and be careful buying on eBay. I will be from now on, thanks to someone on this awesome website of people who care and protect the hobby.
Thanks,
Randy
yeah a bad situation made good by an honest seller he not only paid me the amount i payed for the card he refunded postage both ways and also for the PSA quick opinion for a total refund of $178,so i am very please and wish him well getting the same from the seller he bought from!
Thanks for clearing my name here Randy. Unfortunately I have 2 more of them:(. I am extremely busy at work right now but when things slow down I will be on the hunt. I think I might remember who I bought at least 1 of them from and possibly all 3, but I don't want to mention their name until I know for sure. I will DEFINITELY keep you posted.
Chris (SuperiorAppraiser)
CHRIS,no problem just doing the right thing we both got caught up in this mess and hopefully our experience will help others avoid the same problem,i now research autograph cards before i buy them especially cards from 90's and early 2000's, i try to stay with psa Beckett or jsa authenticated cards since it seems counterfeiters have learned how to fake card manufactures holograms.good luck!
