Yup. You must've paid a lotta money for these so you gotta make sure you get it all back.

eBay is pretty helpful but you have to make sure you submit enough evidence so they can close the case in your favour.

If all else doesn't work, just get a quick opinion from Roger Epperson/ JSA etc, and submit their results along with screenshots of what some of the members here are saying. Should be enough.

Most of the time, the scammers want to avoid trouble and just move on to their next victim so I don't think they would put up a fight with you. Hope this helps.

Where do you even get real ones?

It seems really easy to get a COA nowadays...

What would be a definitive way to verify an item?

Many COA on the Internet and especially on eBay, are not reputable companies and they do not exist at all.
There are reputable authentication companies where you can send it in like JSA, PSA, BECKETT, ROGER EPPERSON, ACOA
But the writing pieces in the Photo looks like forgeries....

I'm a huge MJ fan and yes, it would be nice to own an original autograph but there are SO MANY forgeries out there (honestly I couldn't tell the real ones apart from the fakes) that I don't think I'll buy one anytime soon.

The authenticated ones are crazy expensive.
