I recieved a couple of baseballs from a distance releative that passed away. I cannot make out the names on these two baseballs and looking for any help. Most of the stuff I got were autographed baseballs from players in the 1970's and 1980's who played or coached for the San Diego Padres. There was a signed ball from Jeff Bagwell (Astros) in there, so these might not fit that profile.

Any help/guess at the names, would be greatly appreciated!

Lower one compare with pitcher Andy Benes

Thank you! That’s it…and a Padre (at one time).

I hesitantly think the top one is a vintage Gary Sheffield, not the familiar modern version of his signature.

I think you nailed it again! I was leaning on Gary as the first name in that signature as well, couldn't make out the last name. Searched and found these and they share the same flow/form.

I legit had never seen that kind of Sheffield autograph before. What a difference 30 years makes.

My signature has changed dramatically from my later teen years to now...I also know some people purposefully change it in order to identify a timeperiod. Maybe Gary did the same. Thanks again!
