This KISS item signed in gold is one of the MANY fakes I've seen over the years being peddled on EBay (and the like)- often being sold alongside some bogus story of the item having once previously belonged to the famed KISS fan and collector Vinny Gonzales.
Two key tells:
A) Simmons does not employ a lightning bolt 'S' and if he ever did it pre dates the invention of the paint pen. This signature is modeled after the Simmons signature used as a graphic overlay in the KISS ALIVE I booklet. Its got a sexy vibe and looks nice and all with the pronounced dollar sign, but it is a forgery.
B) The T-bar in the Stanley sig is dead wrong. It is inverted- making a sharp positive slope. A genuine Paul Stanley will yield a T-bar that has a negative slope- going DOWN from the left and NOT up.
