"Patience :) You can use the time to educate yourself some about prices and all - what a nice one looks like as opposed to something rushed etc. so you will be ready when you do come across something. It takes time."

"Worthpoint lists a ton of signed petty heartbreakers guitars-some played by petty going for $33K with many just signed goig for $7000 and others for $899. I do not know guitars so that might account for huge price variation. "
