Anybody familiar with www.signaturedog.com? Amazon seller.. fake Kershaw?

Since Amazon knows my every thought, this item popped up when I logged in today. $124.99 for a Clayton Kershaw ball with a "Steiner" COA. No picture of the COA or sticker was provided. The signature…Continue

TradeGeek replied to Danny Alves's discussion Jordan and TED Williams signed ball need help!!!
"The Jordan looks slow to me. Nobody sells Jordan cheap if they are real. And I'd say 99% of any Jordan autograph that isn't from Upper Deck with the full documentation is likely fake. He has signed exclusively for them since the early/mid…"

"Yes, this is one of about 5 to 10 pieces that he signed a ton of though. They've been heavily marketed after his death. You can probably buy one for around ~$150 if you're patient. "

Ted Williams opinions, please

Any opinions of this Ted Williams? 16 by 20 photo.Something I have never done. Ran into this as an Amazon prime "lighting deal". Very good price for a 16 by 20. PSA cert among two others (which mean nothing to me). PSA authenticated a ton of this particular signed photo in 2010 (which scares me). If authentic, it's not the greatest example. But the price was very good. And it was fulfilled by Amazing so I can return and get a refund no questions asked. Is this a good Williams? Thanks in advance.See More

TradeGeek replied to Bruce Juice's discussion Ebay has updated it's approved and banned sellers list for autographs
"Obviously Beckett got on the list because of Steve Grad. I'm no fan of TPAs, but that guy knows how to market himself. People seem to think he walks on water. Several promoters I follow who have used PSA for decades at their public and private…"

TradeGeek replied to David Seideman's discussion Matt Harvey Headlining Mets Show This Weekend: $149. Wow!
"That's really high for Matt Harvey. Maybe not in 2013 before injury issues caused so much lost time (and question about his future). There is always a NYC premium but that's ridiculous, IMHO. Especially $40 for an inscription.  There…"

TradeGeek replied to AnakinAutos's discussion Ebay seller coolkidscollection1971 Fake UDA items
"Upper Deck simply did not maintain a good database in the 1990s. In many cases, it was up to the buyer to fill out a form and send it back for the item to be preregistered in the DB. The result is a lot of UDA items from the 1990s have nothing more…"

TradeGeek replied to Steve Cyrkin, Community Manager's discussion Is it Safe to Buy Autographs at Baseball Games?

TradeGeek replied to James's discussion How high will Tom Brady autograph prices go?
"That's sad. He's cashing in shamelessly. If you check eBay his certified autograph cards are selling for $500 +. It's only a bump from the Super Bowl. Non collectors are jumping into the market and driving up the price. By this time…"

TradeGeek replied to James's discussion How high will Tom Brady autograph prices go?
"The public signing are never worth the price as far as the autograph is concerned. Your paying to meet the player, get an item personalized or have something very specific signed.  If the autograph itself is all you want you can typically…"

About Me

What kind of member are you? Industry professionals must use their real names and identify themselves as such. (Check as many as apply.)
Collector
What brings you to Autograph Live?
I was a collector as a child and owned a retail store in high school specializing in sports memorabilia (mostly sports cards, ya it was the early 90s). Was inactive after college. Recently, my 8 year old son has become a huge baseball fan. I have started collecting again with my son after a 20 year hiatus. The shocking volume of forgeries on the market brought me here.
Who can we thank for telling you about Autograph Live?
word of mouth
What do you collect, or want to collect?
Sports
Tell us more about your collection, specific areas of interest, etc.:
Primarily baseball. Mostly in person autographs. I have a large sports card collection and do collect certified autographed cards. Most of my collection was either signed in person for me or for someone I know. I generally shy away from purchasing autographs given the number of forgeries on the market.
What is your level of expertise?
Intermediate Collector
What is your favorite autograph in your collection?
A Walter Payton photo my first employee gave me for my birthday in 1994. It is personalized and came from my friend's ex-wife in Chicago who worked in the same building as WP at the time.
For my son? Mike Trout signed a ball for him last summer. It was a BLEM he was playing catch with earlier that day. It has ketchup on it. But he landed Trout!
Why do you collect?
To expose my son to the same joy of baseball I had as a child.
You can ask anyone living or dead for their autograph. Who would it be?
Walter Payton. Just to meet him
