It's OK. It was more Mike's comment. Just keep in mind that celebs have feelings.

That's the nature of the hobby steve, I would think any celebrity would be appreciative of the dedication of fans to travel and spend a lot of money to meet them and get an autograph. Unfortunately that isn't the case for most of them.

I ordered a dual signed off Prowse's site last week. I figured that $250 was on the high side but like Pete said it's for a sit-down quality signature in the same color marker as Prowse with controlled placement on an out of print and desirable Official Pix photo. Factor in that they are two of the oldest actors from the principal cast, morbid but that's the cold hard reality, with JEJ having either slowed down or stopped signing completely TTM and it just felt like time to cross off a great Vader example from my list.

I had no idea there was any doubt about the authenticity, kinda hope that just hearsay. BTW he literally just upped the price overnight, now it's £250.00 = $300.

Dave obviously has/had an arrangement with James, if it is for a charity donation or payment, I seriously doubt James would allow anything being sold so publicly,  to be signed by anyone other than himself.

This is the same signature that has been coming TTM for years now, the fact that the signings are all done in private, is just that, merely a comment of fact not any accusation of the pieces being anything but authentic.

Every single person on screen or off in the Star Wars universe has seen some change to their autograph in the last 40 years. Some saw a complete alteration to their signature while others had the most minor adjustments. But that is a discussion for another post.

Makes sense. Thanks for putting my mind at ease, Pete. Who do you think has had the biggest change, Ford? Lucas?

I would have to say Lucas, if you look at his earliest signatures they would read George W. Lucas, Jr. and today you get a G and an L that aren't even formed the way he used to write a G or an L.

Cushing, Ford and Hamill have all dropped letters, but the overall basics of their letter formation remained.

Honestly, the first time I saw his vintage signature I thought it was a bad fake! lol

I don't think it looks even close.

I don't have much of a reference file on the modern TTM Jones stuff, but it is a pretty good match to the stuff I have seen.

I prefer the older Jones signatures.

Cheers Pete, yeah it looks to match the modern stuff I'm seeing too.

Bradford, I'm confused why you don't think it looks even close? I have been matching up to the modern stuff and it looks to match all the charachteristics to me, so even if it were not real it would definitely be close. Was just interested in your reasoning?

Thanks,

Ben

it's legit, no issues with the signature at all :) i really want to get mine signed by prowse so it's dual signed, but in all honesty, ill probs just end up getting prowse on another image
