So here's a question for the entire group and your opinion will be respected. BY ALL! OK?
I read that PSA/DNA is nothing but a scam, James Spence is nothing but a scam, and it goes on and on. Is there any reliable authentication service out there that is at least 90% reliable?
I have two Dale Earnhardt Sr. autographs that I want authenticated. I've posted here with no response. I'm willing to pay the money to have them authenticated and I'm willing (and suspect one could be a forgery) to accept the verdict that they are fake. I just want someone who will stand on some morals and tell me straight up.
Any opinions? Thanks

I don't like any of the authentication firms to be honest, but, even so, I don't feel that PSA or JSA are "scams." I just don't think they're as good or reliable as people would like to think, and it doesn't just boil down to a few random mistakes. I don't like some of their business practices. As is the case with many businesses that are growing, money overtakes product quality.
To the best of my knowledge, there was really only one or two people here who had much knowledge about NASCAR autographs. One in particular, Brandon Mysinger, seemed to know quite a bit but hasn't posted here in a while. I'm guessing that PSA has fielded numerous of Earnhardt inquiries over the years, so they might b a good option in this case. Just speculation though.
Thank you Rich. Yeah, I was leaning towards PSA at least for an initial opinion. I found where Brandon is supposedly associated with a firm called Global Authentication. I've sent an email asking if he is still associated there. Waiting to hear back. From posts here he seems the most knowledgeable.
Yeah, I thought about mentioning that. I still think he's probably knowledgable in NASCAR, even if he's associated himself with some bad firms (including GA and Raceworld.com).
Drop a comment on Brandon's page here on the forum, any time I've suggested someone do that he has usually popped in to answer them. http://live.autographmagazine.com/profile/BrandonMysinger
I used to have a lot of faith and trust in Brandon Mysinger, but do not anymore. Not for his expertise, because I think he probably knows NASCAR better than anyone. It's due to autographs he has sold or tried to sell, and other things.
For Earnheart right now, I'd use Beckett, because I think Steve Grad is good on him.
Is that the same Mysinger forging the Harrison Ford autographs?
It's the Mysinger known as Twnsman on RebelScum.
I feel your frustration.
Every service can make a mistake and they do. I like to go with who has the better customer service. I seem to get great customer service from JSA. They will talk with me over a graph and sometimes explain their thinking. I have NEVER gotten that kind of service from PSA, and I have certainly tried. Beckett being new…. I only submitted items 1 time, but was happy with the service.
I am just pro JSA. On that rare occasion that we disagree, I at least can find out why. I get more for my money that a generic fail letter.
Mark
PSA/DNA and JSA are not scams, they just make millions of dollars doing something most collectors could do with a bit of research.
They are good because they screen out a lot of the forgeries but no authentication service is perfect and they do make mistakes.
