I already have a Garbo letter (to Cecil Beaton no less but in pencil and only signed "G") but I am pretty keen to get a signed Garbo photo as there are so few known.

There is an autographed photo at Heritage this weekend but it looks fishy to me. The current price of $1,600 seems to suggest that others agree with me.

Any views?

P.S. One of my biggest howlers was buying an 11x14 signed "Greta" for the bargain price of $850. The seller claimed it was Garbo and to my obviously untrained eye it seemed to be her and the first name looked plausible. A few years later the biggest film buff I know here in Switzerland gave me the less than welcome news that in his opinion this was Greta Nissen!

P.P.S. I have absolutely no grudge against Heritage. I have bought some great stuff from them and sold well through them too.

doesnt look right to me Pug either

Perhaps unsurprisingly unsold. Plenty of big results on the movie poster front though (e.g. lovely Italian Casablanca for ca. $0.5 million, fairly crude Australian daybill for Metropolis over $200,000)!

I looked at the results too soon. The Garbo actually went for $7.6k including 20% BP. Still seems too cheap  - a more convincing one at RR recently sold for double that - and that actually seemed pretty reasonable.
