Hello!

New to the forum, and wanted to get your opinions on a jersey that I recently added to my collection. Signed by the majority of the LA Angels 2017 team.

What are your thoughts? Specifically on the Trout and Pujols signatures.

I sent this to a friend who is the best I know on Angel sigs. He's collected and seen more Trout sigs over the last three years than anyone I know graphing them everyday during spring each year and he says it's not authentic. The Pujols looks traced or retraced as do a few of these. Some on here do look good. Calhoun does for sure.

Thanks for checking. I got it from a guy who I deal with consistently and he goes to events and such to get autographs. He said he got them both from a golf tournament last month at Pelican Hills. I was inclined to say that they are genuine because I know for a fact that everything else I've gotten from him has been very solid. Thanks again. Would love to hear other opinions as well.

A lot of these look very suspect, and traced over, mainly the Pujols. I see two others that are obvious trace jobs. The Trout too looks very atypical, but it could be a rush job on a fabric surface. Still not a fan of it.

Plus, if the seller is claiming it's from the 2017 team, they're off by at least 3-4 years, as the one on the upper left, number 6, looks like a slowly drawn Alberto Callaspo graph, who was last on the team in 2013. And one of the retraced ones under Trout is CJ Cron, and he only wore #20 in 2014, IIRC. He's still on the team, but now wears #24.

Either way, can say definitively what the deal is, but it certainly gives me a lot of reason to pause. Best of luck, whatever you decide to do with it!

One thing that I forgot to mention that would explain a few of the things you pointed out is that I had given him jersey with some of the autographs already on there. He had added Calhoun, Simmons, Escobar, Bedrosian, Morin, Trout, Pujols, and Revere.

He supposedly texted me right after he got the Pujols saying that he was signing in a thick Sharpie at the course. Thanks for the feedback.

well, i will say if the jersey were bad, it would probably be the first and the last time anyone ever tried to fake a Mike Morin autograph!
dang ipad isn't letting me edit properly. meant to say, i *can't* definitely say what the deal is...

materials such as this can throw off what we would consider the "typical" formation of a signature. it would not surprise me if these were authentic.  The Trout looks fluent, and the Pujols does look like it was signed with a thick marker. Hard to be sure because of the writing surface.
