Interesting. Thanks for asking. The item was actually sold through It's Only Rock and Roll, and not RR. So, is the letter of provenance a fake that was used to sell copies as originals.

The many reproductions being sold by the owner of the original set is clearly causing problems. He has really mucked up the waters on this one. Selling color copies of his own set will only cause problems with the authenticity of future sets. Whose to say that every set has been sold as a repro at some time and there are many unauthentic copies out there? High value autographs have enough trouble proving themselves real without this happening with this one set. What a mess!
