Just saw someone's recent Elvis post and thought I would add mine to a discussion.  This came directly from Perry Cox, obviously, a highly reputable source.  A COA from Perry as well.  I've always felt the signature (on a 5 x 7 magazine page) was a little too shaky, with stops-and-starts and it concerned me at the time. However, given Perry's confidence and assurance, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to purchase it. I remember that Perry had explained to me, at that time, that Elvis went through some periods of being in an "altered state" and that could possibly explain it's shakiness.  Just wanted to see if any of you with more experience than I in this area than I had any opinions on this. Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you...

Yes I agree that’s a lot of work. PSA, JSA, BAS make that decision in 2-5 minutes and charge more. I’d like to see the conclusion he comes to in it. Interesting to me.

You are NOT going to like this probably more than I dislike saying this

But after more and more comparison's to Elvis signatures and handwriting I have a new outcome.

I'm going 100% neutral.

Remember that trait I said I was looking at?
Well it's there alright, but the problem is it's there too many times in your item. Elvis as far as I can see Never replicated this trait so many times in one single autograph and handwritings.

Your example seems to be a forced effort.

I wish you luck in finding the truth, but I can no longer support thinking it's authentic.

I remain uncertain, sorry man

Goodcat, I agree with you. I think the Elvis is likely real. I'm no Rich or Roger, though.

You asked if I would let Rfitzz sell his Elvis in our Buy/Sell/Trade group. That's a great question.

Yes, if Rfitzz made it clear that the jury is still out, disclosed Rich and Roger's opinions, and posted a link to this discussion in the listing.

But I wouldn't if I thought it was likely not real.

Goodcat, I posted the above before reading your latest.

I'm on the fence now buddy

I'm seeing something that is not typical

I saw typical, but I'm seeing it repeated to many times

I wish I could explain here, but with Elvis, I'd rather not

I'll pm you Steve

I'd go direct to Roger for an opinion so you can have his insight on the piece. Well worth it.

now I have questions for you Rfizz

Like Steve, I do appreciate your openess and willingness to learn

However... the goal is to reach the truth or a reasonable facsimile thereof haha

Some of the facts are getting clouded

And correct me if I don't recall properly but I'm not going to reread this whole thread sorry

Wasn't it posted that Roger said "NO" or "not likely" ?

But now you are saying you don't know what what said?

Sorry man, but I want to know. Not harrassing you, but it bothers me when I can't finalize something. I don't even care if it remains unsure. But this story is taking many twists and turns and I can;t keeep up

And YES... I remain neutral now. I've uncovered new evidence sorry

He’s been transparent about it. Not like he’s trying to pull a fast one on anybody. If he were selling it and there are others comfortable buying it than it would be a fair transaction in my opinion.

Rfitzz, thank you. You've been transparent in this discussion and have posted your opinions and those of the others you've shown your Elvis to. I appreciate that. This discussion has a lot of value, because collectors can learn from the controversy that everything isn't black and white.

RFZZ

I hate to be a stick in the mud

But I would take Eric's opinions over your requests any second of the day

The fact you say you are happy with what you posted is very revealing in your quest for the ultimate goal.... authenticity
