We now have a Musician-Direct Autograph Sales Forum where you can post individual discussions of new offerings. It's a big change—and a big improvement. We closed this discussion after 8 years but it will always be available to read.

The new system has been in place for 2 months now and it's working well.

This video shows you how easy the new forum is to use.

You can follow the forum and be notified of new signings exclusively! And you can enter a musician's name in the forum's search box and find any discussions about them.

Be sure to click the Follow link at the bottom of the list of discussions.

Try it...I think you'll like it.

It can be nice when one stumbles upon a musician's shop (via their website), to see that they are selling their autographs. I figured this could grow as a wee database for listing those musicians who partake in this.

I recently recieved a couple press photos signed in ballpoint from John Mayall's website (http://www.johnmayall.com/merch.html). I am also aware that you can purchase signed CDs from Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits(http://peternoone.com/store/). John 5 ( formerly Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie guitarist) sells various items signed, with an option to dedicate.

So, does anyone else know of this being done by other musicians?

I saw your post but havent seen where they were proven fake.  They certainly arent autopenned. Possible that since they were signing a gazillion of them that they rushed?

If you google their signatures they are all.over the place.

I'll show you what I'm looking at in a sec.

This is one I found taken from Amoeba signing. It's definitely nicer than my Newbury one. But Newbury has such a good track record, I just figured they are rushed.

there are two types of signatures..rushed and not rushed...the one i got from newbury has the same look but a thicker tipped silver marker was used..looks very very similar though

I don't think your photo attached.

Hi Rich. Concerning the country, I wouldn't stereotype all country artists as poor signers or autopens. My wife and I have met most of the big names over the years and have found they are generally the most genuine, most accessible, and most appreciative people you can find.

We've met Luke Bryan 10+ times and he is one of the most gracious, personable, and accommodating people you'll ever encounter. Same with Blake Shelton and Dierks Bentley. Luke's preorder and shop autos have always been legit, same with Blake and Dierks. Never an issue with Carrie Underwood either. I've stayed away from the older artists and although tempted, I didn't dare bite on the recent Loretta Lynn.

I say use common sense. Nobody of Dolly Parton or Willie Nelson's stature is likely going to sign a bunch of items, especially at their age. Look at the record company too, and if there is a history of autopens then you need to pass.

Jason Aldean has done a lot of autopens but at a recent concert, he signed two cd's for my wife and I from the stage.  One of my favorite concert memories, for sure.

Country artists are generally very down to earth and legit. Sure, there have been exceptions but I don't feel any more so than the rest of the music world.

Examples from the preorders. You can find many more on Ebay, as well as Twitter and other social media.

mine looks like all of those...each one is slightly different..def. not autopenned

So, I have to sign my name alot in my job.. sometimes 100+ at a time.. the variances are pretty huge when I have to sign alot.  I'm not seeing it.

they are legit..no need to worry

...I see the differences obviously but am not surprised by the differences
