Hello everyone. I was hoping someone on here could shed some light on this michael jackson potential autograph. I received 2 of these promo pictures probably 30 years ago when i was around 7 years old. Was a huge mj fan back then. Its a long story but i actually received them from michaels mother. I had it pinned up on my wall as a kid and been buried in a box for probably 20 years now. I actually thought i had thrown it out many years ago. I always assumed it was just a facsimile auto and wish i had the second one still so i could compare, but i gave that one to a friend way back when. Now that im older and getting back into the autograph scene i found this is my storage and it actually looks like a real signature seeing as it has faded quite a bit over the years. To me the signature doesnt look like it was signed by michael though, but seeing as it came from his parents i just have to find out. If anyone has any insight it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Cheers, Bryan

Ps im not sure of the picture attachments are going to work. Doesnt show them in the preview. If not ill post after when i figure it out

I believe this is autopen.

Thats what i was thinking..i seem to recall the 2 i had being identical but i was pretty young at the time so cant be sure if my memory serves me correct.  Thanks for the opinion.

Hi Brian,

Can you make an undistorted good flat on scan? I can then overlay with a known Autopen that appears to match.

thanks for the reply eric. Is that sufficient?

Its the same autopen from the Moonwalk book.

Do you have a photo of that particular autopen signature from the book ? Ive looked it up on google and seen several similar sigs but nothing that exactly matches this one.

These were commonly sent out when fans wrote to him at his Neverland Ranch address.

I dont doubt that at all Big S.

Bryan - MJ’s authentic signature is rarely that neat and defined (each and every letter defined)

As a general rule, the bigger he got, the bigger and messier his signature got - making his late 90s sig and beyond quite challenging with any degree of certainty without provenance (for this die-hard fan anyway)

In such cases, I have seen authenticator A say yes and Authenticator B say no. Fan say yes and Authenticator say no. Authenticator say yes and fan say no. And on and on.

I stick to his vintage sig up to mid 90s or so and can spot it a mile away ;)

I wouldnt even be here if it hadnt been for him and his music. Never be another!

Well said my friend.  MJ will continue to live through the test of time!
