Appreciate any thoughts on the possible authenticity of this Bowie signature. I was looking at another one previously which came back as authentic, but someone scooped it up before I could make the purchase. Looking for 1980 or earlier so this one caught my attention. Thanks.

Lovely Alan :)

What you have also shown is that there are three ways the genuine examples have the "t" crossed from the "h" in "thanks" - the OP being one, the "s" is always separate and appears also as the OP in some ways, and the "i" in "with" starts with a down stroke when it is separate, also as the OP. One wonders what MarkG will say. Overall it seems rather consistent - even the "w". I wonder if it may be good.

Here is a "thanks"...

That's a genuine "thanks" in that last picture there Eric? That's very consistent with the example in question (i'm not sure what OP stands for!). So often you see the "a" not fully connected but you're right, the separate "s" and the "n" and "k" look like they may be good. Sounds like the consensus is leaning toward this one being genuine then

That "thanks" is from a 1973 ANS with Epperson papers. I have also seen the "t" lean to the right as well. "OP" is short for "Original Poster".

Thanks very much for the extensive feedback, everyone!
