 hi all-

i am trying to figure out if this is worth anything. I found it in my parents storage shed. My mom couldn’t remember what it was or how they got it.  We don’t know if we should sell, can sell it or where to get it valued or authenticated

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Interesting.  I was pessimistic because I have not seen this style of Cobb but it is somewhat comparable to this exemplar.  I am a collector that relies upon the resident experts here so I am curious to hear their thoughts.  I would be interested if deemed authentic.

Yes, I’m really curious. It was in a box buried under hundreds of baseball cards. It is framed and the glass is cracked but I don’t see that the photo is damaged by the cracked glass. I have not even started to explore the cards yet.

Thanks :)

Hmmm. The cards could be very interesting!!

I got this from a guy at authenticatemyautograph.com.

I got this from authenticate my autograph.com. I am trying to decide if it is worth the money to have it authenticated.

I can’t tell if the image went through or not.

Plenty of experts here.  They will have an opinion that you can take to the bank.  Just be a bit patient. ;)

Katherine,

What did you get from Authenticatemyautograph? Did you mean to post an image that didn't show up?

You said .com and singular, but was it Authenticatemyautographs.info? That's owned by Rare and Signed in the UK, which is a well-known, blatant seller of forgeries.

Yes, your photo made it. If you're not seeing it, I'll repost it.

Guys, any thoughts on Katherine’s Ty Cobb’s signature?  While not relevant to this board, I am curious about your baseball cards, Katherine.  You can post some on net54 or if you shoot me a message, I can try to help you with rough value and provide selling options ( eBay, Heritage, net54, etc.,).

Ok, will do. I will try to get some photos within the next couple of days. Thank you!

Katherine,

In my opinion your Ty Cobb is definitely genuine. It is his typical handwriting and signing of his last name; his "Ty" usually looks like "To" in his salutation, but otherwise everything is normal.

What size is the photo? The photo has some damage, but it's not too bad or distracting. It's not faded and the autograph is far bolder than most, which makes it worth more. It's not photo from when he played, which are more desirable.

You've got a nice piece there! If it's a large photo, about 7x9-plus, I think it would likely bring in the $1,500-$2,500 range at auction.
