So how do I find a legit Mantle ball?

Hello all! New to this site. I'm a fairly new (5 years) autograph collector. I would like to add a Mickey Mantle signed baseball to my collection. I have some birthday money I saved just for that! I would like to pass the ball on to my boys someday. So, after playing around on this site and receiving lots of good info on forgeries, how do you find a legit one? Is it safe enough to just buy one off eBay or online that has been authenticated by JSA or PSA? Thing is, those authenticated balls look the same as forgeries...to my untrained eyes anyway.

1) Welcome and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

2) Slowly!

3) Safely by posting here before purchase for opinions (even authenticated balls) - the responses are free and often more accurate than the authentication companies - and you can ask questions as well.

4) Look/wait for quality - they are not rare. NEVER settle. Wait until you find what you like (clean, good contrast, placement etc).

5) Price comparison, read the sellers policies and always pay with Paypal or CC for additional protection.

I must be forgetting something!

PS - I got one for my Dr. right here with an assist from the guys and it was about $325 and quite nice. He was very satisfied - it was a favor - I am not a sports guy. Vintage Hollywood, Golden TV, R&R music etc. yes.

I sold four Mantle balls within a couple days here (including Eric’s). I have one more that was authenticated by psa dna but I need to find the letter of authenticity. It has the sticker and is signed on a Worth RIF ball. I would sell this for $260 delivered. If you are interested, let me know and I will try to dig up the letter.
