Since Dr. Seuss' signature seems pretty easy to copy, I have my doubts about these two signed first day covers based on authentic examples I have been able to find online. Although I really like the Cat in the Hat sketch, it also does not seem consistent with other authentic Dr. Seuss sketches.

I would appreciate opinions from anyone who may know Dr. Seuss.  Thank you in advance.

Doesn't look like the signed book I had. See what others say.

Thank you Eric. They both looked off based on comparisons I could make as well but will wait for other opinions.  Always learning.  Appreciate your help.

Here is the bookplate I had signed from someone who knew him. C. 1970. I'd pass on the two you showed.

Thanks Eric for posting this example for comparison.  The flourish on the fish sketch FDC was a concern since your example is more consistent with other likely authentic examples I had seen.  Appreciate your help as always.

Most welcome :)
