I don’t see a problem with it, imho. I will never understand why his autographs are so undervalued. He was such a huge star and today is hardly remembered, don’t understand that either. What is your thoughts on this, Etienne?

Nick, Thanks for taking a look…..Not a fan of Senior…..was a fan of Jr.

David - It's quite blurry and hard to focus on any subtleties.  But even given that....I say thumbs down, unfortunately.  It simply looks drawn to me.  Is that fountain pen or a fine tip sharpie?  Hard for my eyes to tell.

Nick - Fairbanks was a phenomenon in the teens and 20's.  I just think his exuberance and the historical adventures just have not aged well, at least for many.  In my opinion, he was perfect for silent film because he burnt up the screen with action and charisma!

I was on the fence with it, hard to tell. I signed off on it but I wouldn’t want it in my collection. I have seen his autograph very small like that and also very large like the menu one. I have seen his “F” both ways too and Douglas is always separated. Again, a very inexpensive autograph that you can pick up for next to nothing in the silent film world.

Etienne, I have always had doubts on this one…..it is a very small signature…..my thoughts 40 years ago,,,why would a forger do a tiny signature…put it away and worry about it later…today is later....looks like a trash can signature….unless some one can produce a similar signature….thanks for your thoughts…..you are better versed in very vintage autographs….

Unfortunately, I think that's probably the best place for it.  The OP is just to tight and jagged.   Here's a fun one I found on HistoryForSale.  You can tell Jr. formed his "D" based upon Sr..

I really have not studied Fairbanks at all. But, looking at a number of examples from reliable sources the OP does appear atypical.

Nick, Etienne, Eric, and Joe, Thanks for the look….Four strikes. in a few minutes….it is definitely out……David

It took a fews days to find the imposter, but today it was dispatched.
