Most of the autographs I've seen of Gary Cooper, he signed his first name with a lower-case "g." Did he ever use an upper-case "G"?
I know Clark Gable switched between using a lower-case "g" and upper-case "G" for his last name. I don't if he did it arbitrarily.

I don't recall seeing exemplars of Cooper using what we would usually identify as a classic upper-case "G". Perhaps others have.
As far as Gable, didn't he usually sign legal documents (contracts, checks, etc.) with the upper-case "G" & lower-case for autographs? Here's a release granting rights for the use of his reproduced signature where he uses the upper-case "G" for the legalize and the lower-case "g" for what he wants to be reproduced:
