Ship of Fools 1965 Oskar Werner SPc & Original Contact Test Sheet w Signoret

Hi All,

Another great film - The Ship of Fools from 1965 with Oskar Werner as the ill lovestruck ship's Dr. Schuhmann, and Simone Signoret as his addicted love interest La Condessa. Vintage signed German photo postcard along with a contact sheet of costume test images from the production. An original still by I hope you enjoy them.

Poor Oskar Werner. He died a wreck of man: booze, piils, and chain smoking killed him. He was a great talent. There's a very sad interview of him on Youtube in which he is horribly disheveled and hardly able to put together two sensible words.

It is very sad. I've seen something similar with Richard Burton.

Oh, I agree. I don't know what it is with extremely talented actors who self-destruct. Perhaps they are unable to handle their own talents.
