I'm not too familiar with Chaney (senior, I guess?), but the ink looks astonishingly fresh for someone who died in 1930.

See what others say.

That is Jr.. Sr. is below.

Looks like Jr's is spot on, to my uneducated eyes!

Robby - Read Eric's initial opinion below.  I'm in agreement with his description, as you can see.

I'm not quite convinced this is an authentic Chaney Jr. in the original post.   That one seems very carefully executed by someone who knows his signature and is getting the fundamentals right....but not quite natural.

That is the feeling I got. It appears slow, self aware and uncomfortable

Righto...All three of those are good, descriptive words for the original image on this post.

It certainly appears "off".... and even more so looking closely at it.  I'd take a pass on it.

The baseline is also atypical. Pass here as well.

Yep... And aside from the rather florid letters "L", "C" and "y", all of the others letters look so scrunched...and "dainty".

Thank you both!

Most welcome Robby93.

There are some other members here who know Chaney's autograph well, I believe.   Maybe they'll see this and give us further opinions on the OP.
