Those are both Cherry!

Great stuff CEE!  did you ever meet Gomez?  he was at a show in Pa in 1985, with Yaz.  I drove out there really to get Yaz, but I had an extra AL ball with me, and they were selling Gomez' pic so I ended up with a sweet Lefty signed ball (which I had to sell recently) and a cool personalized color photo, which I still have.

the line for Yaz was out the door, and poor Lefty was just sitting there most of the time, because a lot of people didn't even know who he was.  But what a sweet guy, he talked to me for half hour.  I will never forget it.

Wow Terrier...man this story really has me practically tearing up with jealousy...what an awesome story...I never was able to meet Gomez...he had already passed once I started doing IP signings...I really wish I went to meet all of these guys that lived so long...I just did not make enough money in those days to even spend 50 on an IP auto...once The Mick and Dimaggio passed away and missing that window to get those great legends I started doing IP signings and met practically every Yankee Legend after the fact from that was still alive from about 1999 forward like Ford...Berra...Rizzutto...Larsen and a few other guys...but guys like Dickey...Gomez...Ruffing...Rolfe...Shawkey...Reynolds...Lopat...Raschi...McCarthy...that lived so long...I would have loved just to have met just one of those guys...

CEE, back in the 80's the price of these IP signatures was very reasonable.  Lefty was probably 10 bucks.   Mantle was even 15 dollars TTM at these card shows.  Dimaggio is the one that raised the bar. he was such a prick......he raised the price to 150, and was very selective about what he would sign.  he is the one that changed the autograph game, in my opinion.

$5!!! Are you serious?  Did he limit how many you could get signed?  Mantle is one of the ones that have increased in value and I didn't think it would because there are so many.  Maybe a million.  Is that a fair number?

I'm jealous. Good talking to you thru chat man.

CEE here is that Lefty photo I got IP in the mid 80's.

Thats so awesome! I would have loved to have been able to meet these legends like that! WOW!  Still hoping I get to meet Whitey Ford, Yogi Berra, Bobby Richardson, ect ....

That is so Sweet Tony !!!!!

Got this right. 11x14 Mickey Mantle.  I dont mind the fading. Just knowing my hero touched it and signed it is satisfaction for me. I will mat this and frame it.

Can anyone tell me what year this photo was taken?  I wanna say 50's due to the H&B markings on the bat. And is that Yankee Stadium?

Given he is in pinstripes, I'd assume it is Yankee stadium. Not sure but from his apparent age, it looks like it was taken in the 60s.

I WOULD ALSO SAY HOME AND 60'S AS YOU CAN SEE HE IS NOT THAT CLEAN CUT BOY FROM THE 50'S PHOTOS...HE HAS SOME AGE IN THIS PIC...
