On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.

Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.

Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.

If you know Michael Jackson's autograph well, please look at a few images below from the auction and let me know what you think. Even better, browse the auction and upload any similar examples you have: http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/77/

Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.

Thanks for your help.

Dear Steve and Mr Frost, i think you would agree many samples have been posted, this discussion has been exhausted, its time to act,  would you kindly contact the authorities to file complaints, we as fans/researchers/advocates/supporters of Michael Jackson can not do it on our own, time is short we kindly request your support. This is a serious matter most of us that came here came for a resolution, this  is very serious matter,, We have come together and posted many contact points for you.

Yes we are passionate, when it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, it is a duck. we are calling it as it is,

Here is a link to another Michael Jackson autograph I feel could be dodgy. http://www.rockstargallery.net/MichaelJackson

It's a signed Bad album this has been on sale at this company for a while. Again Rock Star Gallery have genuine autographs but this one just looks suspect, and not to dissimilar to the Bush signed items that's raising a few questions.

I've never seen a genuine autograph at Rock Star Gallery, at least among valuable autographs. Maybe when a rock star-turned-artist visits, but I don't check those.

I am very sorry but having a tough time following the post at this time. I hope to return to my office on Tuesday evening. I am doing all I can do to help and contact others that can help, but I am dealing with a death of a close friend.
I as the lead autograph authenticator for P.A.A.S. "Professional Autograph Authentication Services Inc." will make our 2nd statement of many to come on the autographs in this discussion.
Michael Jackson signed Pepsi Jacksons Ad signed in Red ink ;/Via Scan;
Not likely to be genuine: Our authenticators believe that the item, if physically submitted to P.A.A.S. for examination, would likely not receive our certificate of authenticity. It is the professional opinion of P.A.A.S. that this signature is not authentic.
**Please note this based upon a scan. The only way to truly examine and authenticate an autograph is to physically examine the signature, the ink and the item that has been signed.**
Thank you,
Michael Frost
P.A.A.S.

If there is any disagreement I would love to hear from you.
I was looking for a response from some additional autograph authentication companies.
I will repeat something that will help this whole situation,
"I think it would be important if the other Autograph Authentication Companies or professional authenticators, such as PSA/DNA, JSA, GA, PASS-CO, ect. and individuals opinions by John Reznikoff, Roger Epperson, Richard Simon, or any other professional authenticator to express their opinion on the signature or signatures in question. This should not be political and it should not have anything to do with your personal opinion of the company or the authenticator. The more professionals that agree and have the same opinion the stronger the fight and argument of the case. Please contact all professional autograph authenticators and request an on-line examination then post their statement or opinion.
Some may request a small fee, I am doing this free of charge and it is to help the autograph community."

THANK YOU MICHAEL

I am so sorry Mr Frost, please accept our condolences,,

Thank you for the confirmation of the above as not being authentic.

Mr. Frost, I have a question about your reply that is a little off topic. You wrote "*Please note this based upon a scan. The only way to truly examine and authenticate an autograph is to physically examine the signature, the ink and the item that has been signed.**" I would agree the only way to authenticate an autograph is to physically examine it but can't it definitively be ruled not authentic by viewing a scan or photo of the item. Thanks for your response.

Chad, IMO autographs such as these are so obvious they are visible to the general public!

That was kind of what I thought. I can't comment much on MJ but there are many autos I can easily discredit without seeing them in person.

Mr Frost i have just emailed Mr Simon, Mr Epperson, and BOB EATON-PSA/DNA. will let you know when i have a reply, thank you again for all you help.

I have also sent them a link to this discussion.

Mr. Frost, You are a tremendous human being. Thank you for everything. I am so sorry for your loss.

Steve ,
Executors of Michael's estate are John Branca and John McClain.
