Garry King is well liked by some but I see a big problem with some of the items I see on his site.  I'm not referring to Kenny Baker and other small bits but rather the large $$ music items.

Dealers in the UK might not be aware of current music item that they offer for sale.  In another thread several autographs from Autografica were deemed fake.  The items were Clint Eastwood, Charlton Heston and Harrison Ford.

He might not know there is a problem.

Brandon

thanks for this comment,

Im completely lost by some of the comments made on here, are the Adrian items considered Genuine or Fake by AFTAL ?

I thort maybe only myself was unsure on the opinion on items supplied by Adrian

It appears we still dont really know AFTALS position do we ?

But....................Before eveyone jumps at me !

I AM sure Ken Mills will keep his word and as a spokesman for the New AFTAL Organisation he will duly advise us of their position

If the Adrian supplied items are called Genuine by AFTAL on no account does anyone anywhere on this planet have to agree , its a free society and we can disagree also

A statement will be made and with Xmas approaching this will be in the New Year

So lets all hope for a Happy New Year

Gary and Brandon,

AFTAL havent said real or fake. Ken gave the reason that every member of the new steering group(apart from Garry) have not yet seen all the supposed proof. Nothing has happened until now as there hasnt been a board to make any decision.

I wouldnt expect to hear any more til after Christmas now unfortunately!

Mick

thanks for that, I have so many things to say about this. But as I promised I will let the new board sort thru this and advise in the New Year

Then we can all get to grips with this again

Best wishes For the Festive Season

Most of what I have read in this discussion recently has been very good news.  I do not know any of the people mentioned personally but the ones that I have met on this website have exhibited a concern and a passion for our hobby that is necessary to run an organization that is responsible for preserving it.  I was also happy to read that Garry is remaining.  I agree with Rick that things should probably be settled sooner rather than later.  Neither the Olympics nor Christmas should be used as an excuse to postpone actions when so many collectors have been affected.  Brandon is also correct in reminding us that it was this website that initially brought attention to this story so regardless of what many may think AML serves a valuable purpose for collectors.  Remember that one person’s comments do not represent the entire membership so there is no reason to group all members into one category.  Hopefully we will have a statement issued before Christmas but even if we do not it appears that AFTAL is moving forward in a positive manner.

Just to show our friends in the UK that we actually do go after forgers on our side of the pond:

Well done mate, and as you know I have no problem with your ethics or that of AML

A fake is a fake no matter what country it originates from

Keep up the good work

Thanks, Gary. Hope you're enjoying the holidays.

Yes Steve

you too have a good one

Hello Forum

A Happy New Year to all !

I just wanted to ask Ken Mills if there is any news on the New Updated AFTAL and whether or not a statement will be made regarding some of the questions raised in 2012

So could anyone please update me

Thanks

Gary, Ken has recently been on ACAF and informed everyone that AFTAL have met and gone over it and he has drafted a statement which is waiting approval before being released. So I would say any day now.

thanks Mick for the update

We will see soon and I know Ken probably has had a lot on plus Xmas etc

Just wondering if we have any update on Authenticity of the items reviewed at the Aftal meeting, I did ask this on the other thread

thanks
