Hi,

Found this site trawling through a vast amount of Beatles Memorabilia websites. I have collected mainly Beatles posters over the last ten years but got my hands on a set of autographs about 8 years ago. I've been told they are legitimate from circa 1963. What do you guys think?

nope, i don't think so.

ringo's "the beatles" is wrong, also take a look at the o in "lennon", and the o's in "george" and "harrison", they are exact. they are written buy the same person. the paul is wrong also, to many stops and starts, as in between the "l" and 'm', and the second "c" going in to the "a" in mccartney. a pretty good attempt, but to many little things with them add up to big problems. just my paranoid opinion.

I think that DoubleXpert is right, sorry.

Thanks for the replys. Amazing when you actually start looking at them as signatures and not get caught up in who there signed by.

I'll go with the concensus so far and say fake, although much better than most fakes that you see. There's a tendancy for the writer to extend words with a little flurry (end of 'Lennon' and 'Harrison', beginning of 'The') which I have seen The Beatles do but it just seems to be too much of a trait here. Also look at the first vowel in 'Harrison' and 'Lennon' which both seem incomplete because of the way the pen rises too high from the initial consenants, would both John and George do that on the same set?.

Of course I can't be 100% sure but I can say that I wouldn't buy them myself.

There are indeed a number of unusual things, but parts of it look really good, and almost too good. It appears that there was a problem with the pen, which could account for some of the inconsistencies. What's really strange is that the "n" in "Lennon" looks like a George "n". Another thing that doesn't look right to me is the "o" in "Ringo". Very interesting set, for sure. I wouldn't feel comfortable buying it either.

I think this set is one of the best fake sets I've ever seen, it's much better than the majority.

I dont like them, the lennon being the dead giveaway.  also, lennon and Mccartney definitely look like they were signed by the same hand. and the "Bealtes" in the Ringo salute bothers me, as does the handwriting.

I think Ringo's Beatles is the clear clue.

Again thanks for replys. Definitely interesting to hear all your views. There is a little bit more to these autographs but wanted to hear your views first. When getting them authenticated 8 years ago I got a split decision (from highly rated experts) on whether they were authentic. To be honest I kind of just put them away and only recently sparked my interest again.
Interesting. Might be time to talk to them again.
