Come on Roger, I hope you hadn't seen this one yet. I mean the Richard is pretty good for a fake but the other 3 are very bad. And you tell me who would have the opportunity to get 4 members of Pink Floyd in a white paint pen. This is laughable.
Moderator's Note: Most members think the signed album is genuine. We have not deleted or altered the posting member's opening or replies, but we did rewrite the title to remove Jim Officer's claim from it that the album was fake.

I agree this is pathetic.
You posted this discussion and you got your replies and opinions. It sounds like you have a vendetta against Roger with your all your offensive replies. Don't bid if you think that this is a fake as everyone had suggested. I am not an expert in Pink Floyd autographs but I always respect Roger's opinions and comments. Cheers!!!
What Mother Love Bone piece?? I'm confused Barry.
Again people, enough with the "I trust Roger" stuff. I want educated opinions only. Roger doesn't need you all to bail him out.
Please only chime in on these if you have an educated opinion on Pink Floyd signatures. Not trying to be rude but if Steve would remove all the comments from people saying "I trust Roger" there would be nothing here but 2-3 people agreeing with me and Roger's ducking on the issue. This against Roger because he authenticated the piece in the first place. It's not like I drug him in out of nowhere.
One thing i would like to see Jim is all the evidence you have that will "bury" Roger. i have heard that same claim come out of no less than 3 people before on this site. Each and every time they were known members from Autograph News Live and Autograph Alert. They were only here to go after Roger, and they make up more lies about the man than their are hours in the day. Including his and his families sexual orientation.
My personal opinion is that you are someone associated with either AA or ANL. Anyone who knows autograph at all really knows that while people may not agree with Roger, PSA, JSA or any of the others all the time, they all dag on sure respect his abilities, and if he authenticates a floyd item, it definetly isnt going to be a horrible forgery. From the way you left your comments from the get go Jim you have been after one person on this site. You have thrown around the typical insults and threats to Roger that every other member of the forging industry has, and so at this point i dont see why you should be treated any different. I disagree with Roger on periodic items, but i know autographs well enough to know what the mans experience is with autographs. And the way you are mud slinging and not providing any solid backing makes me think you dont really know much about this field. If i didnt know better i would say this is Grant VanderHoven or someone of the like.
As i have stated several times already, i believe the Gilmour to be authentic. I read your explanation Jim where you went into more detail about what you see wrong with the piece, but the point never changed or new evidence was never given. You keep going back to them all signed in the same pen, and all by some forger who had 2 Floyd items up on ebay. If hes a forger than he needs exposed, but i looked at that link, and the item certed by JSA doesnt not look like them at all in my opinion. Signatures being tough to get, signed in the same pen, and sloppy does not equal fake. These do not look like they were signed in the same hand to me, and being frank, i typically jump the hand when it comes to thinking that multiple signatures are signed by the same person.
At this point their is no need for any comments to be deleted, b/c you chose the path the conversation went down. And to go back and delete comments that prove what your saying is false is misleading.
But i would like to see the information that you have that will "bury" Roger Epperson. I think he would like too and all of us would. I have heard those words many times, and each and every time its someone with alterior motives and their is never any proof or substance to the claims. Its all smoke being blown.
And i think you will have a very hard time finding anyone who will give opinions on this item now. AFter seeing the spectacle you have made it, its probably all but dead.
Again, these do not look like any Pink Floyd signatures I have ever seen. For the record, I would not buy them if offered to me for a wheat penny. That is my opinion. That being said, I have to wonder what was you motive in posting this item in particular, Officer?
If someone was to publicly state that they had intentions of buying this album and will now not buy this album, because of what you have said about it, R&R auctions would have grounds to sue you for slander. This is something that happens on this site quite often, and to my amazement, I cannot believe this site even exists in the form that it is in because of the liability factor. It is a free-for-all like the wild west. Anyone can say anything about anyone and it will show up as the top Google result. For instance, someone could say "Jim Officer forges the hell out of Sirhan Sirhan autographs, and dares you to stop him!" and now, when you go to Google and search for Jim Officer (and) autographs, this would come up.
It looks to me (and apparently a few other people) that you have a personal vendetta with Roger Epperson. I can understand being frustrated with an authenticators opinion, but since it is Roger, and he is seemingly a one man operation, why not email him or R&R and ask them about it if you're interested? I do not know Roger Epperson, nor have I ever spoken to Roger Epperson - with the exception of comments through this site and I do not use his (or any other third party) services. I have purchased items that have been authenticated by Roger, PSA, and JSA, but the certificates all usually end up in the recycle bin. I could care less about their opinion on a piece of paper. I am also educated enough to stay away from idiots like the Vegas Gang, and for the most part anything coming out of Ohio, Pennsylvania, or Washington State, and if I do it gets a major twice over!
I sometimes do not agree with opinions of PSA, JSA, or Roger, but do you know what I do about that? I don't buy that item. I am educated enough to not buy it. And if you are as educated as you say/think you are on Pink Floyd signatures, you just don't buy this piece. Simple as that.
I think you are publicly picking on Roger because he is the face of his own company and he is a member here. It's an old game, pulling out your package and measuring it to see who has the longest one. It's a tired game. I do not envy the non-stop b.s. attacks Roger takes for at least trying to do the right thing. I also think it's nice he will throw a "freebie to a newbie" here and there when someone is about to get rolled by an ARA type of company/seller. Why don't you start up your own authentication company and charge people for your opinion? Mike Frost did it! You could even charge $14 an item and undercut Roger, PSA, and JSA!
If we all took your word for it, according to your statements in this thread and past posts you say you know "all of the forgers". In this thread it has been Roger and Michael Wehrmann, in another it has been Brian with PSA, in another it was a guy in Seattle in the 90's that "does" Eddie Vedder signatures, but is now magically no longer a forger? How would you be privy to the fact if someone in particular was a forger or not, unless you are in present company?
You had me with the subject not looking good, but you lost me with the notion!
I wish I could have said it as well as you did James. That was brilliant! Also I have never met or spoken to you that I know of but one thing is for sure I wish I could write like you do.
BTW, I am NOT the consigner of this LP in question. I rarely consign anything to auctions as I sell them myself. After 24 years of doing this I have built up a fairly good business.
James, Very well said. What you said actually made me sit back and think a little. This particular post about the Pink Floyd album was all over the place and Roger was at least man enough to come on here and defend himself unlike the PSA and JSA's of authentication that without a doubt read or at least hear what is being said about them but you never see Jimmy Spence or Joe Orlando come on here to defend their companies. Roger don't take this the wrong way but I think showing some examples of those particular signatures to Jim would have nipped this before it started.
There is a lot of good information on this site in general, however there is a lot of slander and bashing as well that should be followed up with solid facts or examples or just not posted period. Anyone can come to this site and write what they want without justification or facts to follow it up. Not everyone is going to agree with everything that's what opens healthy discussions and makes us Americans with the freedom of speech. To bash and go back and forth which was done in this post is absurd. There was an easier and more logical way for Jim to make his point and then give Roger the opportunity to follow up to that point. Jim has his opinion, Roger has his, JSA has theirs, PSA/DNA has theirs, I have mine and all of you have yours. The key word is "Opinions" which is what I thought the site was based on, giving "Opinions" to help the collecting community. Very rarely if ever will everyone agree with 1 persons opinion, take the opinion you trust in and run with it. The bashing and slander is way too much, show facts and back them up...
This title should have been, "Pink Floyd signed album cover, what are your thoughts". In the post Jim should have said something along the lines of " I saw this Pink Floyd signed album cover in R and R auctions pre-certified by Roger Epperson, Roger these signatures look weird and not like any I've seen before can you show some examples of what you went off of when you pre-authenticated this album". This then opens the door for a healthy discussion and the opportunity for Roger to respond. There is no bashing or slander and it opens this up for discussion.
The other thing that isn't fair all the time is when someone posts "look at these item's from ebay power forger (so and so) and there is for example 1 Mickey Mantle Baseball (for example) with a coa from let's say Home shopping network or whomever. Maybe this seller does not know it is bad (maybe he does who knows) but instead of throwing the sellers name under the bus maybe contact them and say " This ball isn't authentic" and give them the opportunity to respond or remove the listing. Maybe they bought it years ago and want to sell it now not knowing it's bad or maybe it was a gift and they are selling it, does that make them a forger? No. I've seen posts on here from sellers that were contacted and actually came on this site to say I didn't know it was bad and thank you for telling me I've since removed the listing.
We can all educate eachother without bashing and slandering one another. We can all agree to disagree..
Thanks Jason. Because of the way the forum is set up it is only natural that certain threads will go off the rails. If a few more rules and guidelines were put in place it wouldn't (hopefully) turn into the free-for-all it can sometimes turn into. I think Steve and co. are considering that, so we will see! I think Kurt Vonnegut said it best, when he said "the unstructured life is not worth living".
Correct. Steve and I are trying to implement ways of making the sight more user friendly.
Allowing people to go off hammering each-other with personal insults instead of talking like adults, isn't a healthy atmosphere. But it's also hard to control.... and neither of us can be right there on the threads at all times, nor do we know what someone is about to do... until after it happens. So how to we stop this type of behavior?
I think what immediately turned me off and respect went right out the window re: Jim Officer, was that when he didn't agree with Roger he went in a different direction--a personal direction with these types of statements
"hahahahah, what a joke. BTW Your rep is crap mr JSA, what a track record"
"I am saying Roger you are sitting here with you balls in the wind calling a circle a square! Either you have completely lost it, never had it, or you are behind it."
"Good leave your mis-authentications are not welcome anyway"
"I can dig miles up miles of dirt on you bro"
It wasn't about the article in question any more AT ALL.
Then we get an email from Jim asking us to remove him and the thread from here.... which isn't going to happen (unless Steve does it).
This kind of stuff happens all the time..... and it's usually someone in disguise under a pseudo name targeting Roger. If this person isn't one of them and merely wanted to stress a point that he believes the item(s) are not real and are forged, he would NOT have gone in the personal direction he did, as there is NO reason for this conversation to have gone there. If you disagree, then just disagree. There is no reason to insult and attack personally.
How to stop this type of thing? Well any suggestions are welcome.
