selling items like this I think the choice of the right auction house is essential to get the most out of the sale... was the £1700 sale price included or plus buyers premium??

agreed, should have been in Bonhams or christies to get the most really.

Add 22% for commission. Still cheap though!

I was thinking of bidding for this on the day but the John really put me off, I think that is what really affected it's price or it would have sold for double.

I don't think this set actually sold, it didnt meet it's reserve and is now being offered by the auction company on a 3 day auction.

Well after not winning this item, I've managed to buy it by paying the reserve.

Its arrived, and I'm very happy with it. It comes with copies of the competition winners letter, photo of her with the beatles, and a letter from her explaining all about the competition.

With the photo in hand you can see the Lennon is complete, however the join between the O and N is right across the rail on the boat.

I love this piece!
